DIARY & VILLAGE IMPROVEMENTS

On Thursday May13th we are erecting the Marquee at Atherton Town Football Club { Behind Sports Centre } at 2-00pm, this is to make sure that the marquee is okay to use at our Community Plant Sale during our end of May bank holiday weekend May 29th, 30th & 3st .

We will also need extra volunteers to help out at our plant sale, 1 hour / 2 hours / or for all 3 days, EVERY BIT OF HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED, JOIN US, YOU WILL ENJOY THE EXPERIENCE

Several areas have been identified as " Needing imminent attention " these include,

COLLIERS CORNER---Preparation of site for storage container, Clear the area, Base, Shuttering etc but, this depends on success of planning application.

Strimming around perimeter, trees, rocks and tubs etc.

Watering when needed.

Re-planting with Summer Plants

LEISURE CENTRE GARDEN----Strip out completely and start again with different theme, suggestions are welcome.

JUBILEE GARDEN----General maintenance and TLC.

PHIL`S WALK-----Sign needs repairing and general clean-up of area.

SHIELD / MEMORY TREE-----General maintenance and clean-ups.

BLUEBELL GARDENS, ATHERTON, Strip out and Summer Planting, application submitted for funding to pay for this, will need plants, soil, compost & maintenance equipment, Karen Aldred is organising this and the re-planting etc of the planters outside of the MEMORIES TEA ROOMS at the Town Hall.

OLD MANOR PARK-----Christine Ridyard has volunteered to look after this site, but, The Bridgers will help in ANY WAY we can.

PLANT SALE-----This is being held on the end of May Bank holiday weekend of MAY 29TH, 30TH & 31ST From 10-00am to 2-00pm on each day, during the weekend we will be filling people`s baskets, tubs, pots etc with plants of their choice, so, EXTRA VOLUNTEERS WILL BE NEEDED, CAN YOU PLEASE HELP, CONTACT PAT DALY ON 07412 521040
