Early in January 2026 we were nominated for an award in the { Innovation in Green Spaces } category of the KBT awards, within a few weeks we were informed that we had been shortlisted into the top three in this category.

This is a tremendous achievement considering we are a small community group of just five members and, the other groups in our category consisted of most of the major county councils and city councils in the UK.

At the awards ceremony, which were held in the Midland Hotel , Manchester, we definitely stood out like sore thumbs, the hall was full of paid employees who were representing their respective councils / parks etc.

We didn`t win the actual top award . but, we did get the runners-up award, and, this gave us an unbelievable feeling of pride and satisfaction, not only that but it validated everything we do and the methods we use to get results.

WHAT AN AMAZING TEAM WE HAVE !!

PUBLISHED REPORT

In February 2026 we were given one of our our most prestigious awards, following my nomination in the NATIONAL GREEN NETWORK { GREEN FLAG } Awards we were informed that we had been " shortlisted " into the final Three positions for the " INNOVATION OF GREEN SPACES " Award.

The competition we were up against included County Councils, Parks & Green Space Managers from around the United

Kingdom,  AND the other two finalists in our category were " City of London and Derby County Council "

CITY OF LONDON were awarded the main award.

And although at the awards ceremony at the Midland Hotel, Manchester on February 26th, we didn`t get the main award  in our category we were awarded the " RUNNERS-UP " spot, which for a small community group like ours was an AMAZING achievement, in fact,  THE BRIDGERS COMMUNITY GROUP WAS THE ONLY COMMUNITY GROUP to qualify in any of the categories, AND, we were the only Community group to be invited to the awards. AND when the Annual budgets / work forces for the various entrants were considered, the County Councils and all of the other entrants ran into £Millions,        The Bridgers Community Group had a budget of about £3000.00 to cover everything we do.
