JANUARY 2023 UPDATE
Dan Harris { Atherton Creative Engineering } has informed me that he is now recovering well from his unfortunate accident and has started work again on our commissioned Horse Sculpture, there was also good news on Dan`s family situation, they have a new addition { baby girl } and all of them are progressing well.
We are hoping that work will now continue until completion and that a date for for putting the new sculpture onto Colliers Corner isn`t too far away
JULY 27TH 2022, This is an insight into what our new horse sculpture will look like, in this photo it is about 1/3 finished, the left foreleg as you look at it is how the whole horse sculpture will look, the sculpture was put in situ so the the Britain In Bloom Judges could see it during the judging day.
The expected completition date is mid / late September, we will then have an official launch on the corner with people who have helped us to buy the sculpture as our invited guests
UPDATE OUR CROWDFUNDING APPEAL WAS LAUNCHED AND WITHIN JUST A COUPLE OF WEEKS OUR TARGET WAS REACHED, THIS WAS BECAUSE OF FANTASTIC DONATIONS FROM MANY SOURCES INCLUDING ST MICHAELS SCHOOL AND ATHERTON CHARITY CUP COMMITTEE, WE ALSO HAD A COUPLE OF EXCELLENT PRIVATE DONATIONS.
A MASSIVE THANKYOU TO EVERYONE WHO DONATED,
HOPEFULLY THE SCULPTURE WILL BE COMPLETED AND FITTED THIS SUMMER
UPDATE, FANTASTIC NEWS A Local engineering company called ATHERTON CREATIVE ENGINEERING has offered to design and make a replacement pony for Colliers Corner in the village, the cost will be a very acceptable price of £1500.00 including delivery and fitting, A CROWDFUNDING APPEAL WILL BE LAUNCHED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, SO please donate if you can, every pound will help.
Over the Christmas period the Wicker Pony sustained a considerable amount of damage, possibly too much to repair so 2022 will be spent trying to raise funds to replace the wicker sculpture with something a bit more substantial, this means fundraising, one of our best methods of raising money is by our Plant Sales so this year we will be adding extra money raising aspects to the plant sale days, including RAFFLES ETC.
If you can spare ANYTHING that can be used for a raffle prize then please send a message via this website.
If you have any more ideas on how to raise money please let us know.
A while ago i put a post on regarding damage to the Pit Pony on Colliers Corner, the response we got from people who saw the post was phenominal, we were given lots of excellent advice and offers of support, we will now look at the best way forward with regard to a possible repair or replacement and the costs of both of these options, also, if needed, what is the most suitable type of replacement for the damaged pony.
Unfortunately we don`t have the money in hand to buy a replacement, so, if this is the only option we will look at fundraising opportunities, one method we use is Plant Sales so we may dedicate one of our plant sales to raising money specifically for a new sculptre, other ideas have been offered and we will look at all of these options. From the Bridgers and residents of Howe Bridge a MASSIVE THANKYOU TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR COMMENTS AND CONCERN
UPDATE-------MARCH 1ST 2022, We have sent details of what we are looking for with regard to the replacement of our horse sculpture on Colliers Corner but the response for the companies we have contacted has been very disappointing with only a couple of replies, one was quoting over £12,000.00 and the other promised to WORK OUT A PRICE AND GET BACK TO US, WE ARE STILL WAITING.
We did have one excellent offer from HAMILTON FABRICATIONS oF Atherton but unfortunately what they were offering wasn`t quite what we were looking for, but, A MASSIVE THANK YOU to them for trying to help us and to Glyn Holding for all the help he gave us during the discussions with Lee at Hamiltons
Hi, I have asked st Michaels school if they would be willing to hold a own clothes day to help raise funds and as soon as I have a decision I will contact you
